Click to Pay: Retro Visa Debit Cardholders
What is Visa Click to Pay?
Visa Click to Pay is a secure online checkout service. It allows you to pay at participating online merchants without manually entering your card number, expiry date, or CVV each time. It uses tokenisation and Visa’s authentication tools to help keep your card details secure and reduce friction at checkout. More information is available here: https://www.visa.com.au/pay-with-visa/checkout.html
Do I need to sign up for Click to Pay?
No action is required from you. Eligible AFG Home Loans – Retro Visa Debit cards are automatically enrolled in Click to Pay where a valid email address or mobile number is held on file. You do not need to register, create an account, or download an app.
If you hold a primary card and a supplementary card with different contact details, each card is enrolled separately under its own contact details.
Do I need to download an app or create an account?
No. Click to Pay works through your web browser at the checkout of a participating online merchant. There is no app to download and no separate account to create.
Where can I use Click to Pay?
You can use Click to Pay at any participating online merchant that displays the Click to Pay symbol
Is my card information secure with Click to Pay?
Yes. Click to Pay uses tokenisation, which replaces your card details with a secure digital token for each transaction. Your actual card number is not shared with the merchant, which reduces the risk of your card details being exposed during an online purchase.
How does verification work at checkout?
The first time you use Click to Pay on a device or browser, you will be asked to verify your identity with a one-time passcode (OTP) sent to your registered email address or mobile number. You will also have the option to select “Skip verification next time” (also called “Remember Me”) to save time on future purchases from that same device or browser.
Important: OTPs are time-limited and can only be used once. Never share an OTP with anyone — including someone claiming to be from Retro or from Visa.
What happens if I select “Remember Me” / “Skip verification next time”?
If you choose this option:
- Your device and browser are remembered for future Click to Pay checkouts, so you generally won’t need to enter an OTP again on that device.
- Visa will still ask you to re-verify your identity approximately every six months, or whenever your payment details are updated, for security purposes.
- Visa will send you a confirmation email shortly after checkout to confirm the device has been remembered.
This option is best used only on your own personal devices — not on shared or public computers.
Important: If you receive an email confirming a device has been remembered but you did not select this option yourself, contact us immediately, as this may indicate unauthorised access to your account.
What is the $0.00 transaction I can see on my account?
As part of the Click to Pay enrolment process, Visa performs a $0.00 authorisation-only check to confirm your card is active and eligible for Click to Pay. This is a validation check only — it is not a purchase or payment, and no funds are debited from your account.
Depending on banking systems, this check may briefly appear as a “pending” transaction before it automatically clears. No action is required from you.
Will I receive emails from Visa about Click to Pay?
Generally, if your card was automatically enrolled, you will not receive a separate enrolment email from Visa. However:
- If you had previously registered directly with Visa’s Click to Pay service before your card was automatically enrolled, Visa may email you to confirm the change.
- If you select “Remember Me” at checkout, Visa will send a confirmation email each time a new device is remembered.
- After completing a purchase using a remembered device, Visa will send a transaction confirmation email. This is a standard notification from Visa, separate to any order confirmation you receive from the merchant.
Important: If you receive a Visa transaction confirmation email for a purchase you did not make, contact us immediately at clientservices@afghomleoans.com.au or 1800 629 948 option 1, so we can investigate.
Can I manage my Click to Pay settings myself?
You can view and manage your remembered device settings by logging into the Visa Click to Pay portal (https://src.visa.com/login) using your registered email address. You cannot use the Visa portal to edit your card details, update your contact details, or opt out of Click to Pay — these must be managed directly with us.
Can I opt out of Click to Pay?
Yes. Opting out is only available by contacting us directly at clientservices@afghomleoans.com.au or 1800 629 948 option 1. It cannot be done through the Visa Click to Pay portal. If you contact Visa directly to opt out, you will be redirected back to us to complete the request. Once you’ve opted out, your card is excluded from Click to Pay and will not be re-enrolled while the opt-out remains in place.
If I skip Click to Pay and enter my card manually, am I opted out?
No. Choosing to enter your card details manually at checkout is simply an alternative for that one purchase. Your Click to Pay enrolment stays active, and you can use Click to Pay again on future purchases.
Is there a cost to use Click to Pay?
There is no cost to you for using Click to Pay. It is a free checkout convenience.
Who do I contact if I have a question or a problem?
